Meigs County is full of golden opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, music lovers, locavores, and historians.

Major attractions include Forked Run State Park, Shade River State Forest, Meigs County Museum, Buffington Island State Park (the site of the only Civil War battle fought in Ohio), the state’s oldest standing courthouse at Chester and the Pomeroy historic district.

Meigs County is also the home of the world famous Fur Peace Rance – a guitar camp with overnight facilities and a concert hall – the nationally recognized home of the PBS concert series. The Pomeroy Blues and Jazz Society hosts a popular summer series in the amphitheater on the Ohio River.

The Court Street Grill is known as the home of the blues in southeast Ohio – with a lineup of popular acts performing year round. Local flavor also includes the Wild Horse Café – a regional favorite this western style restaurant serves up southwest cuisine with a river view.
